Susies Bread Recipe

 

Mix and set aside until frothy:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp yeast

 

Then add above to

  • 3 cups flour (2 c white with 1 c whole wheat works just fine)
  • 1 tsp salt
  •  c butter

 

Bake on light setting in bread maker (1L on my machine = 3 hrs)

Total calories per loaf 1897 with 46 gms fat. ( 1 c whole wheat and 2 c white)

In my bread maker, the loaf is about 6.5 inches long, so each  inch thick slice is 145/3.5.

11/10/05: This bread is very hard crusted and doesn't raise well if the "fat" is not included.
