Day 5, Sunday, September 22nd, 2002

Woke up and walked the dunes this morning between 8 and 9:30am. Initially cold, but it warmed up when the rising sun hit the sand. There were spectacular blue skies. The weather has been fantastic.  Mikey loved the run.  Mikey alerted me to the presence of a deer, moving quietly through the area. He turned into a frozen statue looking straight at the deer, whether out of fear or wonderment, who knows.   Dad went fishing early at Cloawox lake and brought home a small bass. Mom and I futzed around the RV, before going onto Florence to shop at the Freddy Meyer. Woo-hoo!

Found a coffee shop in old town Florence where I could get on the internet for $230 minutes. Downloaded the driver and flash software for the USR wireless PCMCIA card, which worked perfectly on this new laptop. No wireless access in Oregon outside of Portland, Ashland or Tigard.  Went to Mo's for clam chowder and grilled oyster sandwiches. Plan is to stay over tonight, then move on in the morning.
