Day 17, Friday, October 4rd, 2002

Well, I had hoped to dive again today, but woke up with a head cold with cough, so had to bailed. Went down to the shop to pick up my gear. Got a shop sweat shirt in exchange for what was owed me on my account. Would very much have liked to have dived today. Water much calmer and clearer. As I drove into town from the RV site in Marina, there was a large fog bank overlying about half of Monterey. Pretty sight.

Instead, got my car washed, then went back to RV and spend about an hour cleaning up my gear and breaking down the camera setup. Left Monterey at noon, and headed down to San Simeon.

The drive down from Monterey, through Big Sur, etc should have been gorgeous, but we saw nothing due to thick, heavy fog.

We're staying overnight, just to the south of San Simeon in Morro Bay. Pretty here. Very large RV park again, right on the beach.. Mikey says woo-hooooo.
The plan tomorrow is for us to go to Hearst Castle, then on down the coast a little closer to LA.

Back to Day 16 or on to Day 18
